Thank you for your interest in our research project exploring drinking cultures among nurses and midwives.
By drinking culture, we simply mean the ways a group of people drink alcoholic beverages together, including their shared understandings of social norms, meanings and practices around drinking and what is and what is not socially acceptable for the group when they are drinking together.
Through the study, we hope to:
- learn important new knowledge on the cultural and social practices, meanings, and settings that shape drinking among nurses and midwives;
- better understand any benefits or problems that may be experienced as effects of drinking cultures among these groups;
- and identify opportunities to promote healthy and positive encounters with alcohol.
If you want to take part in this study, we will ask you to complete an online survey that asks you some questions about your work and drinking practices with colleagues. The survey is anonymous (we do not ask any questions that would identify you or your workplace) and it will take around 20 minutes of your time.
Before you begin the survey, we would like to ask you a few questions to confirm you are from the group we would like to learn about.
